Deck the Halls Exhibit at Oshkosh Public Museum

November 18 - December 31

The Deck the Halls holiday experience at the Oshkosh Public Museum
opens on Saturday, November 18, and will be on display until December 31. In staying true to its mission, the
Museum is offering free admission to children under age 18, and adult admission is only $3.50, during this
annual extravaganza.
Experience the historic Sawyer home decorated in its holiday splendor, and the life-size Christmas Village
exhibit windows showcase a festive display of recreated scenes from favorite holiday movies. At the center of it
all is the unbelievably-detailed wooden toy circus made in the 1940s by Marshall and Ruth Magnusen for their
sons, Karl and Jim. And yes, the Museum Elves will be back and are already planning on how to stump visitors
with their new hiding places.
The Oshkosh Public Museum Auxiliary’s Annual Gala is on Thursday, November 16, from 5:30-7:30 pm.
Attendees can explore the new People of the Waters exhibition and enjoy an evening filled with music, holiday
cheer, and an incredible array of savory hors d’oeuvres and decadent desserts while viewing the beautiful
holiday decorations. John and Marilyn Rogge will give a special musical performance at 6 pm. Admission is $15
to support the Oshkosh Public Museum. The evening will also include a cash bar and cash-and-carry basket
raffle and silent auction (credit cards not accepted). The public is welcome.
This winter, the Museum will host REPLAY, a delightful, whimsical, and incredibly striking exhibition that is the
ultimate flashback to the 80s, combining mediums and artists the world over. With more than 30 pieces of
artwork on display, creatively using both traditional and unexpected media, REPLAY is intended to be nostalgic
as it harkens back to the stories, games and experiences of this iconic era. REPLAY will be on display from
February 18 to May 13, 2018.
The Oshkosh Public Museum is located at 1331 Algoma Boulevard. Regular hours are Tuesday–Saturday from
10 am–4:30 pm and Sunday from 1 pm–4:30 pm. The Museum will be closed on November 23 and December
24–26 for the holidays. Effective January 1, 2018, general admission to the Museum will be Adults $8, Seniors
$6, College Students $6, and Children (age 6-17) $4. Museum Members, and children age five and under, are
