SUMMARY:Academy of St Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble
DESCRIPTION:The Academy of St Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble takes chamber music to the next level by harnessing the artistry of seasoned musicians who regularly perform together in one of the world’s finest orchestras. In this concert of all-string works\, the group plays Mendelssohn’s Octet\, the composer’s breakthrough masterpiece\, with “a delirious sense of forward momentum” (Washington Classical Review)\, along with R. Strauss’s Sextet from Capriccio and more. Come hear an ensemble whose “signature balance of individuality and unity” (The Arts Desk) pairs virtuosity and elegance in equal measure.
