Visit Racine County for a Fun-Filled Fall Season

Is fall the best season in Racine County? We think so!

Fall in Racine County is a jam-packed, fun-filled season that just gets bigger and better every year.  Each day offers a new adventure in a new community! Apple Holler in Sturtevant offers apple picking, hayrides, and a bunch of barnyard animals to spoil with treats. Bear Den Zoo in Waterford makes October the month to visit with pumpkin picking, caramel apples and an incredible assortment of wildlife to check out. Are you looking for the most Midwestern autumn activity ever — the corn maze? Come to Racine County and choose your favorite at Bear Paw Adventure Park or Borzynski’s Farm. Bear Paw Adventure Park hosts its Fall Frenzy with an awesome amount of different activities (apple cannons, laser tag, ropes course, and more) all month long. Looking for another fall treat? Check out Swan’s Pumpkin Farm in Franksville for a fresh-baked apple cider donut! www.thepumpkinfarm.com

Don’t forget the Racine Zoo at this time of year, too. Jack-O’-Lantern Nights runs until October 29 and features over 1,000 jack-o’-lanterns throughout the Zoo grounds. You can stroll among the custom designs, get enchanted by the light displays, and warm up with seasonal food and drinks! What’s new for this year? Pumpkin sculptures! These incredible pieces feature multiple pumpkins placed together in the shape of an animal with details carved into them. As you can imagine, these sculptures will feel right at home in the zoo because they include some of your favorite zoo residents. But it’s a secret which animals will find themselves replicated in pumpkins — you have to come see to find out!  www.racinezoo.org

If you are looking to hang out in Downtown Racine, you have plenty of options to stay busy! There are wine walks on October 7 and 14, each one providing over 30 stops with different wines and beers. The Candy Crawls happen October 21 and 28 and allow kids a chance to trick-or-treat at over 25 businesses in the area! There is also music and shopping and dining available every day — if you haven’t been Downtown in a while, stop out in October. www.racinedowntown.com

Visit us to find a new activity or try a new restaurant or experience a fall festival. The best part of our county, the people, are ready to welcome you. We are proud of our history, our traditions and our local flavor. In the fall, our flavor includes hot cocoa, fresh kettle corn and apple pie baked with apples you pick! We have Farmers Markets, a Chainsaw Festival, and nearly 30 barns to visit on our Quilts on Barns tour (the quilts are up all year long for you to view but it’s especially beautiful in autumn!).

No matter what time you have, we have time for you. Experience Racine County’s Farm Charm this year!
