From Wisconsin Waters to Your Plate: Fishing for Dinner Class
Are you interested in sustainable local foods? Did you miss the fishing boat as a kid? It’s not too late to learn how to reel in dinner. Sign up for a weeklong course and learn the basic fishing skills and where to find fishable waters close to home. This 4-session class begins with indoor practice sessions to prepare you for ice fishing and culminates with a potluck feast. You’ll learn about Wisconsin’s fishing tradition and how to keep it sustainable, and then you’ll learn how to prepare your catch for the table. All gear and supplies are provided.

February 22, 2020, Start at 9 a.m. Fishing Outings with the UW-La Crosse Fishing Team, KAMO, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Participants opting for the license waiver can call 1-888-936-7463.
February 23, 2020, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Potluck and cooking at the Midwest Service Center.

Cost: $0. However, the DNR charges a $15 refundable commitment deposit to reserve your spot. This will be returned to participants upon arrival at the first class.
