Here in Racine County, we have hit the ground running in anticipation of spring and summer! Let’s take a look at just some of the events that you do NOT want to miss to start the best season of the year off right.
For the first time ever, Racine County is hosting an official USA Cycling event! This is a big deal not only for tourism in our area, but it is also big time for cyclists around the country. Mount Pleasant was selected to host the Masters and Juniors Time Trials on Monday, June 30, and we would LOVE to welcome all the racers, their teams and fans, and YOU! The course is perfect for fast times and great viewing. Whether you are a cyclist or not, you will be amazed at what these athletes can do. Don’t miss visiting on June 30 — and maybe even sticking around on July 1 and 2 to see more events in Lyons and neighboring Walworth County. Did we mention there MIGHT be some Kringle for our winners and fans?! Check out roadnats.usacycling.org/masters-juniors-road for more information.
Feast on the Streets is taking place Friday, May 23, from 4-8pm in Downtown Racine. Ten of our amazing restaurants will set up unique and delectable plates of their cuisine — and you can try them all!
If you are looking for a top-notch theatre performance, Racine Theatre Guild has the perfect suggestion … Legally Blonde! This fabulous and fun musical will run May 16 through June 1, with evening, weekend and matinee showings. The cast is always stellar and tickets are always affordable. Visit racinetheatre.org for availability.
Lastly, Burlington knows how to party in the month of May! The Summer Kickoff Street Festival happens Friday, May 16, from 5 to 11 p.m. Pine Street shuts down so you can enjoy food, drinks, shopping at local businesses and dancing to live music! Burlington really wants to celebrate the start of summer and all the events it has planned for the season. For the full list of activities, check out experienceburlingtonwi.org. In fact, you don’t have to wait long because the Burlington Jamboree is only days later, running May 23 through 26. The theme this year is “Let the Good Times Roll” and they are serious about doing just that! There are carnival rides, live music, kids shows, racing pigs and ducks, a petting zoo, food, a Memorial Day parade and a community fun sale. Thank goodness they have four days to get all these activities in. Burlington loves its Jamboree, and you need to head out and experience it, too. All the details can be found at burlingtonjamboree.com
These are just a couple of the incredible ways to spend your time in Racine County! Don’t forget Jellystone Park, the Franksville Craft Beer Garden, kayaking in Waterford, and pickleball in Mount Pleasant, too.
