Planning on attending the Wisconsin State Fair for the first time? Or do you go every year? No matter if you’re a fair rookie or a veteran, make sure you check these items off your to-do list while you are here. The 2019 Wisconsin State Fair runs August 1-11.
Enjoy a Cream Puff
A State Fair staple since 1924, get in on this tradition that over 400,000 people enjoy every year. See for yourself what makes these dairy delicacies so delicious and why the State Fair is the cream puff capital of the world.
The words “State Fair” and “deep-fried” go hand in hand. From deep-fried cheese curds to deep-fried banana bread bites, the Wisconsin State Fair has it all. Check out all of the deep-fried foods and more on the Food Finder and plan your food adventure before you get here.
Grab a Beer (or Two)
Wisconsin is known for its beer, and the State Fair is no exception. Whether you get here at eight in the morning or around dinnertime, grab a domestic, import, craft or specialty beer from over 50 beer stands and enjoy the State Fair just like a Wisconsinite.
Sample all the Sporkies Finalists
Every year, vendors create unique new food creations that will make your mouth water. Bring a group and try all eight Sporkies finalists and vote for your favorite.
Sip at the Milwaukee Bucks Milk House
Glasses of ice-cold flavored milk are only $0.50 at this must-visit place. Try just one or try a flight of all five flavors! Choose from Chocolate, Strawberry, Root Beer, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Green Mint flavored milks.

A State Fair icon for over 50 years, kids and adults of all ages will enjoy a magic carpet ride down this 200-foot-long slide.
See the Draft Horse Hitch Shows
Held on August 1, 2, 3, 8 and 9 at the Fair Park, the Six Horse Hitch Competitions are qualifying events for the North American Six Horse Hitch Classic Series. Come and see these larger-than-life draft horses pull decorative wagons in a series of maneuvers for this competition in the Case IH Coliseum.
Take a Go-Round on the WonderFair Wheel Presented by Meijer

If heights aren’t your thing, grab an Instagram-worthy pic in front of the stunning light display (especially at night).
